Dr. Richard Wamai
Dr. Richard Wamai proudly serves as the faculty advisor for the African Graduate Student Association at Northeastern University. As a distinguished Professor of Cultures, Societies, and Global Studies at the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Northeastern University, Dr. Wamai brings a wealth of experience to his role. His academic journey includes a research fellowship in the Takemi Program in International Health at Harvard School of Public Health and prior research positions at renowned institutions such as Oxford University’s Department of Social Policy, the London School of Economics, the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and Institute for Public Policy, the World Bank, the Nordic-Africa Institute in Uppsala, Sweden, and the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
Beyond academia, Dr. Richard Wamai is a co-leader of the Integrated Initiative for Global Health at Northeastern University, driving global health initiatives within the university. In Kenya, he has established The Research on Multi-Disease and Educational Services (TERMES) Center, dedicated to advancing his work on neglected diseases.
